Cornerstone Mobile Privacy Policy
Last updated: Oct 7, 2026
Cornerstone Mobile, published by LECO Corporation, does not collect your personal data or use it for tracking. It stores your login details only on your own device or in your browser, and sends them only, in protected form, to the Cornerstone server you choose.
This policy applies to the Cornerstone Mobile app on iOS, Android and Windows (Microsoft Store), and to the Cornerstone Mobile web app at mobile.lecosoftware.com.
Information we collect
LECO does not collect, receive or store any personal information through the app. We have no user accounts and no advertising, and our servers do not retain request logs, so we cannot tell who uses the app.
The app keeps the login details and settings you enter (for example, your Cornerstone server address and your sample login preferences) on your device or in your browser so you don't have to re-enter them. This information stays on your device, and we don't receive a copy.
How we get it
You type these details into the app's settings yourself. They are never sent to LECO for storage, and we do not receive a copy.
What we do with it
- We sign you in. When the app requests data, it uses your login details to create a one-way hash that proves who you are. Your password is never sent in plain text.
- We show you your instrument data. Instrument information is requested over HTTPS, encrypted, and displayed in the app. It is not stored by LECO because of your use of the app.
- We send your sample login entries. If you use sample login, the sample details you enter are sent to your instrument and nowhere else.
Third parties
The app does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or social-media software, and we do not share data with third parties. The app talks only to the Cornerstone server address stored in your settings.
If you tap a link on the About page (leco.com, LinkedIn, X, Facebook or YouTube), it opens in your browser, and that site's own privacy policy applies.
Apple, Google and Microsoft distribute the app through their stores and handle download data under their own privacy policies.
Cookies
The app does not set cookies. The web app stores data in your browser as described under Local storage.
As with any website, the server that delivers the web app can see your browser's IP address and standard request details when you load the page, but we do not keep a record of them.
Local storage
Your login details and settings are stored only on your device, in a way that depends on the platform:
- iOS and Android: in the device's secure storage (the iOS Keychain or Android's encrypted storage).
- Windows and the web app: in the app's local storage on your computer, or in your browser's local storage.
They stay there until you delete a login in the app's settings. Deleting the app on iOS or Android, or clearing site data in your browser, also removes them.
Analytics
The app does not collect analytics, usage statistics, advertising identifiers or location. It does not track you across other apps or websites.
Young people
The app is built for laboratory staff and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version at this address and update the date above.
